McCartney huldigt Freundschaft mit Lennon

Ex-Beatle Paul McCartney hat nach eigenen Angaben ein viel besseres Verhältnis zu John Lennon gehabt, als in der Öffentlichkeit bekannt ist.
In einem Interview der BBC-Zeitschrift «Radio Times» sagte der 67-jährige McCartney laut der Nachrichtenagentur PA, John habe oft «Müll» erzählt und hinterher gesagt, dass er es nicht so gemeint habe. Dann habe er ihn über den Brillenrand hinweg angeschaut und ihm gesagt «I love you». Das sei für ihn das Wichtigste, sagte McCartney.

«Ich habe John nie wirklich kritisiert», versicherte er. Und Lennon habe man ein falsches Image gegeben. «Er war nicht der harte, verrückte Mann, sondern hatte einen weichen Kern. Und wir hatten viel mehr gemeinsam, als man denkt.» John Lennons Lieblingslied in seiner Kindheit sei der gefühlvolle Song «Little White Lies» gewesen.

Erst vor einigen Tagen sind Interviewaufnahmen von John Lennon aufgetaucht. Und Paul McCartney kommt darin nicht besonders gut weg. Lennon wörtlich: "Ringo war okay, und Maureen auch. Aber die anderen beiden (Paul und George) haben uns fertiggemacht. Ich werde ihnen das nie verzeihen. Hare Krishna, Gott und Paul sind mir egal, ich ändere meine Meinung nicht.
