London. Musiker Paul McCartney hat die Rechte zur Veröffentlichung seiner Solo-Platten an das unabhängige Musiklabel Concord vergeben.

Von November  an sollen zahlreiche legendäre Alben des Ex-Beatle in technisch verbesserter Qualität und mit Bonus-Material neu erscheinen, teilte die Concord Music Group  in London mit.

Den Start mache das Album „Band On The Run“ von 1973 das mit Bonus-Tracks wiederveröffentlicht wird.

McCartney hatte seiner langjährigen Plattenfirma EMI bereits vor längerem den Rücken gekehrt. Einem Bericht des Senders BBC zufolge erlangte er im Februar die Kontrolle über seine Solo-Werke zurück, die er zwischen 1970 und 2006 mit EMI aufgenommen hatte.
Mit Concord hat er bereits zweimal zusammengearbeitet, unter anderem bei seinem 2007 erschienenen Album „Memory Almost Full“.

„Ich bin immer auf der Suche nach neuen Möglichkeiten, meine Musik zu den Menschen zu bringen, und Concord teilt diese Leidenschaft“, sagte McCartney laut einer Mitteilung.

Die genauen Details des Deals sind bisher noch nicht bekannt. Aber Concord-Chef Glen Barros beschreibt das Arrangement eher als eine Zusammenarbeit, als einen „Plattendeal“ mit finanziellen Vorteilen. Er fügt hinzu: „Das Ziel ist eine langfristige Abmachung.“
