London (dpa) - Die Enkeltochter des einstigen Beatles-Schlagzeugers Ringo Starr (alias Starkey) setzt die Familientradition fort und strebt eine Karriere als Profi-Rockerin an.
Zum ersten Mal war die 22-jährige Tatia Starkey jetzt in London mit ihrer Band Belakiss zu hören, berichtete am Mittwoch die Zeitung «Daily Mail». Ein Plattenvertrag sei aber noch nicht in Sicht.
Ganz bewusst habe sich Tatia bei der Wahl ihres Instruments für die Gitarre und gegen das Schlagzeug entschieden. Der Grund: Ihr Vater Zak Starkey (42), der unter anderem für The Who und Oasis auf die Pauke haute, wurde ständig mit seinem legendären Drummer-Papa verglichen - was dann meist zugunsten des alten Ringo ausfiel.
Solche Bemerkungen wollte sich Tatia ersparen, berichtete sie Reportern.
Während die Enkelin, die unter dem Künstlernamen Veronica Avant auftritt, nun mit etwas Verspätung ihre Rockerkarriere ernsthaft in Angriff nimmt, begeistert der Opa immer noch seine Fans.
Derzeit tourt der 68-jährige Ringo mit seiner All Starr Band durch die USA.
